7 Video-Centric WordPress Themes To Help You with Your Next Project

Over the last few years I’ve created my share of video-centric sites and blogs. The trouble with this is that it can be hard to find the perfect framework or design for these projects. Basically, you have three options… Build it yourself, pay a designer/developer, or find a good resource on the web. As I’m sure most of us can’t afford a designer/developer every time we need to build a quick video blog or podcasting site, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favorite WordPress themes for video. They aren’t free, but really, what is nowadays?

On-Demand by Press75

On-Demand WordPress Theme

The On-Demand theme over at Press75.com is probably the best video-based WordPress theme on the market today. Jason Schuller has taken video theme development to a whole new level and it really shows in this release. If you like clean, functional, elegant themes, then Jason’s site is for you. I honestly can’t recommend this one enough. The design is awesome, the support is fantastic and the price is more than fair.

TV Elements by Press75

TV Elements WordPress Theme

This is another favorite of mine from the Press75 theme collection. A simple way to showcase multiple podcasts or video feeds in one visually appealing hub.

Video Flick by Press75

Video Flick WordPress Theme

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but this is (yet) another Press75 theme that is perfect as a portfolio or simply as a video showcase for things like movie trailers, podcasts, or whatever else you can dream up.

Video by Quommunication

Video WordPress Theme

The Video theme by Quommunication is simplistic, but very functional and elegant. I love the way you can integrate multiple channels into the theme and the design really gives off a nice web 2.0 vibe. With some customization, I think this theme could really be a great solution for anyone.

Vidley by Press75

Vidley WordPress Theme

Vidley was originally released as part of a subscription package with ThemGarden.com. Since then Theme Garden has undergone some changes and Vidley has been released at Press75.com. Much like Jason’s other video themes, Vidley offers a slick content slider, multiple channel support, and some awesome customization options.

WooTube is perfect for the casual video blogger looking to showcase their latest YouTube or Vimeo creations. The design is great and gives off more of a personal vibe than the themes listed above.

WP Show by OshikErnst

WP Show WordPress Theme

WP Show is a theme I found on ThemeForest.net. Though I haven’t used it myself, it does look very nice based on the Live Demo. The theme features a nice featured content area and sports a nice, clean design. It’s not my favorite of the group, but I definitely think that, with some work, it could be a great solution for your video projects. The price tag isn’t too shabby either!
